Qualifications for Airman Leadership School

Are you ready to take the next step in your Air Force journey? To enroll in the Airman Leadership School, you should meet the following criteria:

Senior Airman: You should hold the rank of Senior Airman.

Service Duration: You should have completed 36 months of service.

Promotion Line Number: If you don't have 36 months of service yet, having a promotion line number for Staff Sergeant qualifies you for enrollment.

Fitness Readiness: You must maintain a current passing fitness score.

Retainability: Ensure you have at least six months of retainability from the projected class graduation date.

We believe in your potential and are excited to see you excel. If you meet these qualifications, you're well on your way to becoming a part of our Airman Leadership School. Your leadership journey awaits!

Airman Leadership School Awards

Mandatory award and wear upon successful completion of ALS.

This is the highest honor awarded at PME. This award is presented to the student who achieves the highest overall standing from a combination of academic scores, performance evaluations, and leadership qualities.

The award is presented to the top 10% of the class, based on standing from a combination of academic scores, performance evaluations, and leadership qualities.

This award is presented to the student who excelled as a scholar and is based on all summative objective and performance evaluation scores.

This award is presented to the student who, in the commandant’s judgment made the most signification contribution to the overall success of their class. The John L. Levitow Award winner is not eligible for this award.
